Sometimes, but refrigerant doesn't get 'used up' in a sealed system. If it's low, it's usually escaping somewhere. We check for leaks first, because simply re-gassing a leaking system means you'll be back in a few months.
Yes. Running it regularly keeps the seals lubricated and the system healthy, and it dries the air, which clears a misted windscreen far faster than heat alone.
Usually bacteria and mould in a damp cabin filter or the ventilation ducts. Replacing the filter and cleaning the ducts removes the source rather than masking it.
Commonly a blocked heater core, a stuck thermostat, or low coolant. A heating system flush clears contaminated coolant and debris; if it's the thermostat we'll replace it. Diagnosis tells us which.
