In plain English

The single most important thing you can do for an engine: fresh oil and a new filter, without having to book a full service.

A quick, focused visit for the single most important piece of maintenance a car needs: fresh oil and a new filter, done properly, without booking in for a full service.

Booking

Standard booking. Call or WhatsApp. Most oil and filter changes are done the same day without an appointment if you can drop the car with us.

Fresh engine oil being poured into an engine during an oil change

Prompt: Photorealistic close-up of clean golden engine oil pouring from a spouted bottle into an engine filler neck, steady gloved hand, engine bay softly out of focus behind. Warm highlight on the oil stream against cool workshop light. Clean and precise, no branding.

Do you need this?

Signs it's worth booking in

Tick anything that sounds like your car. There are no wrong answers, and nothing gets sent anywhere. It simply gives us somewhere sensible to start when you ring.

Recognise any of these?

Tick whatever sounds like your car, or skip the ticking and just ring us. Describe the noise, the feeling, the warning light, and we will tell you straight whether it needs looking at or whether it can wait.

What's covered

Everything included

  • Old oil is fully drained rather than topped up, so contaminants cannot dilute the fresh fill, then refilled to the correct grade and quantity for your engine.

  • A new filter every time, without exception. Reusing an old filter on fresh oil undoes most of the point of the change.

  • The drain plug and its sealing washer are checked and replaced if worn, which is what actually prevents a slow weep from the sump afterwards.

  • A visual check underneath while the car is already up, catching obvious leaks elsewhere before they become a bigger job.

  • Your mileage is logged so we can let you know when the next change is realistically due, rather than leaving it to guesswork.

How we do it

What actually happens

No surprises and no jargon. If we find something else while the car is with us, you get a phone call and a price before a spanner goes near it.

  1. Draining old oil fully before refilling, so contaminants don't dilute the fresh fill

  2. Fitting a new filter every time, because reusing one defeats the point of changing the oil at all

  3. Using the grade and specification your manufacturer actually calls for, not a generic one-size fill

  4. Checking for leaks and obvious wear while the car is raised, since we're already underneath

  5. Logging the mileage so we can remind you when the next change is due

Questions

Oil & Filter, answered

It depends on the car and how it is driven, but most manufacturers specify every 12 months or 10,000 to 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Older engines and mostly short journeys want it sooner. Tell us your make, model and mileage and we will tell you where you stand.

If your car is not due its full service yet but the oil is old or low, a standalone oil and filter change is a perfectly normal thing to book on its own. It does not have to wait for the bigger job.

Yes. Modern engines are specified for a particular oil grade and specification, and using the wrong one can affect performance, emissions and in some cases void a warranty claim. We use what your manufacturer actually calls for.

In most cases yes, because an oil and filter change is quick. Call ahead and we will give you a realistic time based on the day's schedule.
