In plain English

Testing your battery properly under load, then fitting the correct replacement for your specific vehicle if it's actually at fault.

A weak battery doesn't always announce itself before it leaves you stranded. We test properly before replacing, fit the correct battery type for your vehicle, and dispose of the old one responsibly.

Booking

Standard booking. Call or WhatsApp. We keep common battery sizes in stock, so most replacements are done in the same visit.

New car battery being fitted in an engine bay

Prompt: Photorealistic close-up of a technician's gloved hands connecting a terminal clamp onto a new car battery in an engine bay. Clean metal and plastic textures, cool workshop light with a warm highlight on the terminal. Precise and technical, no branding.

Do you need this?

Signs it's worth booking in

Tick anything that sounds like your car. There are no wrong answers, and nothing gets sent anywhere. It simply gives us somewhere sensible to start when you ring.

Recognise any of these?

Tick whatever sounds like your car, or skip the ticking and just ring us. Describe the noise, the feeling, the warning light, and we will tell you straight whether it needs looking at or whether it can wait.

What's covered

Everything included

  • The battery is tested under load, not simply read for voltage. A battery can show a perfectly normal resting voltage and still fail under the demand of starting the engine.

  • Confirms the replacement matches what your specific vehicle actually requires, particularly important for larger engines and cold-weather starting.

  • Including AGM and EFB batteries for start stop vehicles. Fitting the wrong type shortens battery life and can affect the start stop system itself.

  • Corroded terminals cause the same symptoms as a dying battery and get missed if you only swap the unit, so they are cleaned or replaced as part of the job.

  • A new battery drained by a faulty alternator will simply fail again, so the charging system is checked and the replacement actually lasts.

  • The old battery is taken for proper recycling rather than left with you to dispose of.

How we do it

What actually happens

No surprises and no jargon. If we find something else while the car is with us, you get a phone call and a price before a spanner goes near it.

  1. Testing under load rather than just reading a voltage, which can look fine on a battery that's about to fail

  2. Matching the replacement specification exactly, because a start stop car fitted with the wrong battery type will wear it out dramatically early

  3. Checking the alternator and charging system, since a good new battery drained by a bad alternator just fails again

  4. Cleaning corroded terminals, which cause the same symptoms as a dying battery and get missed if you only swap the unit

  5. Resetting or relearning battery management systems where the vehicle requires it after replacement

Questions

Battery, answered

Slow cranking, dimming lights and repeated jump starts usually point to the battery. But a genuinely flat battery every single time can also mean the alternator is not charging it, or that something is drawing power overnight. We test which it actually is before replacing anything.

Cars with start stop technology, where the engine switches off at traffic lights, need an AGM or EFB battery built for the extra cycling. Fitting a standard battery to one of these cars will fail early and can affect the start stop system itself.

It goes for responsible recycling. Car batteries contain lead and acid that must not go into general waste, and by law retailers and garages are required to take the old unit back.

Some modern vehicles need their battery management system reset or relearned after a replacement so charging is calculated correctly. We handle that as part of the fit where the vehicle requires it.
